Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation
Electrical equipment, instruments and control systems for oil and gas facilities, including hazardous-area equipment, motors, cables, transmitters and PLC panels.
What this category covers
Electrical, instrumentation and automation equipment powers, measures and controls a facility. We investigate sourcing across motors and drives, switchgear and distribution, cables, hazardous-area equipment, field instruments and control systems.
Two questions shape almost every requirement here: where will the equipment be installed, and what must it be certified for? Area classification, protection method and the certification scheme your site recognises should be stated up front, because they decide which products can be considered at all.
Equipment and parts we investigate
- Electric motors and variable frequency drives
- Switchgear, motor control centres and distribution panels
- Power and instrumentation cables, and cable glands
- Junction boxes, lighting and other hazardous-area equipment
- Pressure, temperature, level and flow instruments
- Gas and fire detection equipment
- PLC, RTU and control panels
- Related spare parts
These are examples, not a stock list, and they do not limit what we can investigate. If your equipment or part is not listed, send us your requirements.
What to include in your RFQ
- 01For motors and power equipment: voltage, frequency, phase, power rating and enclosure
- 02Area classification (zone, or class and division), gas group and temperature class
- 03Protection method, ingress protection and the certification scheme your site requires
- 04For instruments: measuring range, accuracy, output signal (for example 4 to 20 mA) and process connection
- 05Wetted materials and operating conditions
- 06Communication protocol, for example Modbus or HART, where relevant
- 07Data sheets, I/O lists or drawings
Standards often referenced
These standards are common reference points when a requirement is written. Listing one here is not a statement that LB or any supplier holds a certificate or licence. If your requirement calls for certified or monogrammed products, say so in your RFQ and we will investigate whether suitable manufacturers can meet it.
- IEC 60079 series: equipment for explosive atmospheres
- ATEX and IECEx: certification schemes often required for hazardous areas
- IEC 60529: ingress protection (IP) codes
- IEC 60034: rotating electrical machines
- IEC 61131-3: programming languages for programmable controllers
About Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation
Do you source explosion-protected equipment?
Hazardous-area equipment is within scope. State the area classification, gas group, temperature class and the certification scheme your site requires. We investigate whether suitable manufacturers can supply it. Certification must be confirmed with documents for the specific product before any order.
What do you need to quote a pressure transmitter?
The measuring range, accuracy, output signal, process connection and wetted materials, the operating temperature, and any hazardous-area requirement. A data sheet of the instrument being replaced is the quickest route.
Are you limited to the categories shown on this site?
No. The categories are examples of what we source. If your equipment or part is not listed, send us your requirements and we will investigate sourcing options.
Are you a manufacturer, and do you hold stock?
No to both. We are a sourcing company: we work with suitable manufacturers in China and primarily operate requirement by requirement, not from ready stock.
